United Community Ministries (UCM) has over 48 years of serving the homeless—changing one life at a time.

We are a nonprofit organization made up of local faith leaders, government agencies, and private supporters who are deeply committed to meeting the needs of homeless and nearly homeless individuals across Nash and Edgecombe Counties, North Carolina.

Headquartered at 341 McDonald Street & 916 Branch Street in Rocky Mount, NC, UCM operates the only emergency and transitional shelter for the general homeless population in the area.

Founded as an outreach ministry at Good Shepherd Church in 1977 and incorporated as a community-based nonprofit in 1987, UCM has served thousands of individuals and families through shelter, food, clothing, and financial assistance.
