At United Community Ministries, we believe hope should never have an expiration date.
For nearly 50 years, United Community Ministries has provided emergency shelter, hot meals, food assistance, case management, and life-changing support services to homeless and struggling individuals and families throughout Nash and Edgecombe Counties.
Today, the need is more urgent than ever.
Our “Keep Hope Alive” S.O.S Campaign is more than just a fundraiser; it is a community movement aimed at providing ongoing support to sustain our mission and keep these
vital services accessible for those who need them most.
Through our “10 for $25 Challenge,” we are encouraging individuals, churches, businesses, families, and community partners to join the effort by giving regularly and helping us achieve long-term sustainability.
Every donation helps provide:
• Safe emergency shelter
• Nutritious meals
• Food assistance
• Supportive services
• Hope for families, veterans, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those facing crises
No gift is too small. Every act of kindness counts.

Our shelves are running low… but your kindness can help us restock hope.
United Community Ministries is launching a Canned Food & Non-Perishable Items Drive to help ensure no family goes to bed hungry.
We’re calling on schools, churches, businesses, and compassionate individuals like YOU to donate:
- Canned vegetables & fruit
- Pasta & rice
- Soups & stews
- Cereal & granola bars
- Peanut butter & canned meats
- Boxed meals & shelf-stable milk
Every item you give goes directly into the hands of someone in need—families facing hardship, children in crisis, and seniors struggling to make ends meet.

Cans for Hope Challenge – Food Drive
Join us in stocking our shelters with nonperishable food during the Cans for Hope Challenge. Every can helps feed individuals and families experiencing homelessness and those in the community facing food insecurity.
